The door is open and the seat isn’t taken.

But this rim tells me it's a maybe-you-won't-get-home era Mercedes, so no.

That’s an SL Class. She’ll always get you home.

Shaping up to be a good driving weekend. Friday I pick up my daughter from camp. I’m skipping the Interstate to take the Middlebury Gap through the Green Mountain National Forest. Then Sunday I’m hoping to drive the Kancamangus Highway in New Hampshire.

Not a bad looking drive! You’re in NH, or live somewhere else? I’m down in NJ, getting ready for the first ever Oppo Meetup: Wagon Train. As stressful as it is getting it all organized, I can’t wait to step back and look at 10+ station wagons cruising through the back roads together.

Do yourself a favor and see if you can somehow take bear notch rd. instead of the section of the kanc that is east of it [bear notch]

There was a time, long ago, when wagons filled the roads. Now it seems they’ve been hunted near extinction by minivans, SUVs and crossovers. Good luck on your drive.
I’m actually in Burlington, Vermont.

I finished putting my Sti back together this past weekend, just need to call the insurance company up to take it out of storage mode so I can go for some spinsies on some fun NH backwoods routes.

I think I’m going to go for a bike ride today. Maybe the drive home will be fun though. Only 45 minutes left to work!

Ooh. Tell me more. I’d be taking Bear Notch north from Rt 112 up to 302. Does that sound right? I wasn’t planning on going up that way, but I might just go up and back on Bear Notch Rd, if you think it’s worth the ride. What do you think?

Yup that’s right. It’s not the longest stretch but it’s a super fun road, probably one of my favorites in the area. Hopping off the Kanc to go up and come back down would be worth it.

Very cool. I’ll definitely check that out if I have time.

Also consider Hurricane Mountain Road in the future, it’s somewhat ridiculous but fun. Just don’t go too fast or you’ll jump your car many times.

Maybe. I’m off early for a doctor’s appointment (just a checkup), so I have the afternoon free after that. Also, it's a nice cool day.
